Our Sponsorship of Stories for Life
We believe everyone has a story, but few of us have the opportunity to express it. Therefore, it was a pleasure for us to take on the sponsorship of Stories for Life, a UK charity, to bring their services to the USA.
The charity trains and mentors specialist volunteers to record the biographies and life stories of anyone nearing the end of their lives. The service, offered freely, involves the creation of high quality recordings for loved ones to enjoy for generations to come.
STORIES FOR LIFE
Barbara Altounyan, Founder
Barbara Altounyan, from London, is the creator of The Hospice Biographers, now called Stories for Life. The purpose of the UK based charity is to give the gift of memories, to people nearing the end of their lives—by recording their life-stories, at no charge, using broadcast-quality audio recorders.
A TV executive producer, Barbara recorded her father talking of his memories towards the end of his life in a hospice, and realized that more people should have the chance to share their stories and preserve valuable memories for family and friends. Since creating the charity in 2017, over 190 stories have been recorded.
